The first turkeys to be released in Northeast Missouri were introduced in Thousand Hiils State Park along our east fenceline.
The late Senator W.O. Mackie and Maurice 'Red' Wade were instrumental in getting the Eastern turkeys here and we're keeping them here. December 1961 and January 1962 were the 'set out' dates and the long beards have multiplied and flourished since. With the terrain, food and water supply, and consistent management practices the Eastern wild turkey have continued to thrive! This makes Red Wade's the premiere spot for Missouri turkey hunting.
Red Wade's Whitetail and Turkey Camp uses scouts to give our hunters the perfect location for a successful kill.
Our Northeast Missouri hunts include semi-guided service, top of the line lodging, blinds, with several 'hot spot' locations to choose from, and after the hunt camaraderie!
All around sportsmen can also participate in our combo spring turkey hunt and fishing package. Hunt turkey in the morning and "smallie" fish in the afternoon. The private "Mary's" lake offers exceptional small mouth bass fishing.
Red Wade's is the best spot for northeast Missouri turkey hunting!
We will do the best to exceed your hunting/fishing/lodging expectations.
